In the middle 1991, a complete re-study of the car, now called EB110, was done by Nicola Materazzi and Gianpaolo Benedini, both in technical or aesthetic terms. The Benedini prototypes were numbered from C6 (C for carbon chassis) to C16 and were built from the middle 1991 to late 1992. Around 10 EB110 prototype cars were built before the GT production model. An epowood design study with the almost definitive EB110 shape was built on the aluminium chassis number 6.
