В 1986 году голландская фирма DAF приобрела Leyland и Freight-Rover. Модели с увеличенной до 2,8-3,5 т полной массой стали называться Leyland-DAF 400, хотя на экспорт они шли и под названием DAF 400****. Через три года на рынке появилась модель DAF 200 полной массой 2,0 т – уменьшенная копия 400. В 1993 году выпуск DAF 400 и DAF 200 был прекращен: британское отделение Leyland-DAF распалось. Отделение в Бирмингеме превратилось в самостоятельную фирму LDV, где и по сей день выпускается усовершенствованный вариант DAF 400 – модель под маркой LDV Convoу.
